David Franklin
Received
both his undergraduate and law degrees from McGill University
and was awarded a United Nations Internship. He has been practicing law
since 1960.
He teaches various law courses, including "Creditors Rights and
Bankruptcy", "Business Ethics", and "International Law", in the Faculty
of
Commerce, including MBA and Executive MBA Programs at Concordia University,
Montreal.
He is co-author of the text entitled Introduction to Quebec Law and has
written numerous articles on Canadian collection and bankruptcy law. He
is an
active member of the C.L.L.A., having been Chairman of the International
Creditor's Rights Conference in both London and Amsterdam.
David Franklin has released
International Commercial Debt Collection, published by Thomson, the
first book of its kind, designed as a guide to debt collection in the
global economy.
Jonathan Franklin
Received his business degree from Concordia University and a law
degree from the University of Ottawa.
He has been with the firm since 1985, and specializes in
international business contracts and negotiation with extensive
experience in international debt collection, commercial contract
negotiation including licensing, distribution, real estate, and
lease agreements, as well as commercial litigation, executive
employment and wrongful dismissal law, matrimonial law, bankruptcy
and entertainment law.
He was on the staff of Concordia
University as a lecturer in business law for 13 years. He is
fluently bilingual.
